The Perrin Technique® is a hands-on osteopathic lymphatic drainage treatment to help move the toxins that are stuck in the cerebrospinal fluid in the brain and in the lymph of the spine into the blood stream, so they can be cleared by the liver.

Dr. Raymond Perrin, DO, PhD developed this technique in 1989 based on his theory that "different stress factors whether physical, allergies, emotional or infections lead to an overstrain of the sympathetic nervous system. A probable cause of this nervous system overload may be a build-up of toxins in the fluid around the brain and the spinal cord. Some of the poisons caused by infection or inflammation in the head or spine flow through channels from the brain into the lymph ducts of the head face and neck. The toxins are also meant to drain down the spinal cord and out into the lymph ducts lying along the spine. In a ME/CFS sufferer, there is a backflow of these normal drainage points which leads to further toxicity and dysfunction of the central nervous system. This leads to all the many symptoms we see in ME/CFS"1.

He has treated countless of patients with ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia, Long COVID, etc.  and has improved their quality of life. Preliminary studies have also shown improvement in symptoms using his technique.

He is currently working on a larger international study to validate the effectiveness of his technique.

Will this treatment cure me?
No, there is currently no cure or approved treatments for ME/CFS.

For a majority of people with ME/CFS, the Perrin Technique® is part of a multi-modal treatment approach aimed at improving quality of life.
How long before I start seeing results?
Typically, some improvement is noticed with 3 months of weekly sessions. However, your severity level and how well you follow the at-home program will affect the time.

For example:
If you score a 5/10 on the severity scale, then you may experience a worsening for the first 6 weeks then a gradual improvement until you are feeling much better than originally by week 12.

The lower you score, the longer it may take before you start noticing improvements.
What if I have financial limitations?
In coordination with Dr. Ruby Tam and her ME/CFS clinic in Minnesota, I offer a sliding scale for people who need assistance paying for treatments. Please call for more information.
